Educational activity.

The Department of Neurosurgery and Mixed Injuries is located in 5,8 buildings of the National Medical Center "Schifobakhsh" and 5,6 buildings of the complex "Istiklol." The department has 8 study rooms fully equipped with training equipment.

The main goals and objectives of the "Neurosurgery" are to study methods of complex examination of patients with neurosurgical diseases, development of a clinic, diagnosis and treatment of patients with injuries of the central nervous system (CNS), osteocondrosis, congenital diseases of the CNS, brain tumors and patients with mixed injuries.

The Department carries out its activities on the basis of the Low of the Republic of Tajikistan “About Education”, “About Higher and Postgraduate Vocational Education”, “The Model Charter of Higher Education Institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan”, the Charter of the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University and other legal and regulatory acts in the field of education, the Minister of Health and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Regulations of the department.

Students of 5 years of medical faculty and clinical residents study at the department. For all 5 year students of the medical faculty, classes are conducted in 3 languages: Tajik, Russian and English. In addition to them, clinical residents of other departments work at the department: surgery, ophthalmology, pediatric surgery, otolaryngology, neurology and traumatology. From 1976 to 2019 more than 500 doctors have undergone primary neurosurgery training and currently working in the district and regional hospitals of the country.

Practical classes are carried out by means of oral examination, solution of situational tasks, as well as examination of patients. In order to improve the quality of training, the teachers of the Department improve their qualifications at various seminars held by the MH SPP RT and the administration of SEI “Avicenna TSMU” as well as took courses of advanced training and professional re-training, where during the reporting period they received certificates. The department also carries out the mutual representation of teachers, which is carried out according to the approved plan; experienced teachers carry out open lessons.

From the Address of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, everyone knows that improving the quality of education and training is one of the priorities of the Government, especially the policy of the Founder of Peace and agreement, of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the administration of the University. This initiative is unanimously supported by the staff of the Department of Neurosurgery and Mixed Injuries.

Over the past 5 years, teachers of the Department have published on neurosurgery and mixed injuries 7 methodological manuals, 3 educational manuals and 4 methodological developments approved by the Ministry of Health.

April 3, 2015 the staff of the department held a scientific and practical seminar with international participation on topical problems of neurosurgery.
