The seminar on the role of the Tajik State Medical University in the training of highly qualified medical personnel in Tajikistan was held at the Department of Public Health and Medical Statistics with a course in the History of Medicine with students of curatorial groups of the 2nd year study on November 28, 2019.

Sharifzoda F. J. - responsible for the educational work at the department - congratulated teachers and students on a significant date - the 80th anniversary of the university.

According to the history of medicine, Tajiks from ancient times had a rich heritage. It was the great Tajik scientists who enriched world medicine. A prominent representative among scientists of Tajik-Persian medicine was Abuali ibni Sino (Avicenna) who lived the 10th-11th centuries and left behind his great works, which are the handbook of many modern scholars. TSMU - a forge of medical personnel, talented and famous scientists, rightfully bears the name of the great Abuali ibni Sino.

Then, student of the 3rd group, Shokirov Romish, made a presentation on the topic “The role of Avicenna Tajik State Medical University in the preparation of highly qualified medical personnel in Tajikistan”. “We can proudly say that the students of our university are successfully working in 40 countries,” he said.

At the end of the seminar, N. N. Nuriddinova, the senior lecturer of the department, congratulated the seminar participants on the university’s anniversary and noted that students should be proud to study at such a famous university, they should cherish every moment and be constantly searching for knowledge in order to become highly qualified specialists in the field medicine to proudly represent his university, his mentors, not only in his own country, but also abroad.
