The language is an important, inseparable and integral part of national culture. We are respected and recognized in history, precisely, thanks to language, creative heritage and culture. Therefore, our language and our historical past have always been considered the subject of pride and the main factor in the unity of nations.

According to the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "Aboutstate Holidays," October 5 is declared in the Republic of Tajikistan "State Language Day of the Republic of Tajikistan."

President Emomali Rahmon repeatedly noted in his speech on the occasion of the holiday: There is one official state language in the Republic of Tajikistan, and every citizen must know it. This is considered common and natural throughout the world.

The role of the Leader of the Nation is significant in strengthening the image of the republic in the world stage, including in strengthening the status of the state language.

Every year on October 5, Tajikistan celebrates State Language Day.

In this regard, the Department of Foreign Languages ​of  SEI “AvicennaTSMU” from October 5 to 8, 2020 held students’ scientific and practical conferences on the topic: "The role of the Founder of Peace and Harmony - Leader of the Nation –the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in strengthening the state status of the Tajik language."

The conference was attended by students of the 1st and 2nd courses of all faculties of the university, who delivered the prepared reports and presentations in Russian and Tajik.

Professor U.R. Yuldoshev, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, spoke before the start of each conference. In his welcoming speech, he told the participants and noted that Tajik is the state language of the Republic of Tajikistan, the language of mass media, education in schools and universities of our country.

The purpose of the conference is to educate patriotism, love for the motherland and the native language, as well as to develop and improve the communicative competencies of students, their knowledge of Russian and foreign languages.

In general, the conference focused on the historical aspects of the development of Tajik language, and the role of the Tajik language in Tajikistan.
