History of the Department
One of the priority directions of the health care reform in the Republic of Tajikistan is the further development and improvement of primary healthcare (PHC) for population, as well as introduction of the family medicine in practice. In this respect, the Family Medicine Department was established at Tajik State Medical University named after Abuali ibn Sino in 1999.
Doctor of Medicine, Professor Dilrabo Abduqayumovna Kadirova is a founder of the Department.
Since its foundation its space has expanded considerably, a number of its study rooms has increased from 2 to 15. Currently there is a lecture hall, a library, a computer training centre, a corner of the “Evidence-based Medicine”, a room for educational and methodical work, a room “School for Patients with Arterial Hypertension” and 14 study rooms.
