History of the department


The Department of Biological Chemistry was organized in September 1940. The founder of the department and its first head was the candidate of biological sciences Vitaliy Sergeevich Ilyin, who previously worked at the Leningrad Medical Institute.
From September 1945 to June 1948, the department was headed by Professor Dashkevich Boris Nikolaevich, the course of biochemistry was headed by Professor Rayevsky Anatoly Sergeevich, from 1948 to 1952 the Department of Biochemistry was headed by Henry E. Viller.
The course of organic and physico-colloid chemistry was conducted by the candidate of chemical sciences, professor Herman Esfir Yakovlevna, assistants of the department of biochemistry were Yakhnina D.N., Zabozlaeva E.A., Mansurova I.D. Since the foundation of the department of biochemistry Lydia Dmitrievna Cheremnykh and Yefrosinya Sidorovna Ryzhenkova.worked as senior laboratory assistants
From May 1952 to January 1970, the Department of Biochemistry was in charge of the Doctor of Biological Sciences. Professor Epshtein Yakov Abramovich.
From 1970 to 1986 the department of biochemistry was headed by Candidate of Medical Sciences, associate professor Yakhnina Dora Naumovna.
From 1987-2015, the head of the department of biochemistry was appointed Ph.D. associate professor Saburova A.M.
From September 2015 to April 2016 the department was headed by Gafurov Bobomurod Abdukahhorovich. From March 17, 2016 till present day, the duties of the head of the department are carried out by Makhsudova Musalam Solekhovna.

International and internal cooperation


The department closely cooperated with another Departments of the University as department of the internal diseases, child diseases № 1,2, child surgery, Department of Biochemistry TSU, Department of surgical diseases № 1,2 and Department of obstetrics and gynecology№ 1,2.
