YOUTH IN TAJIKISTAN: KEY TRENDS AND CHALLENGES IN MODERN SOCIETY
On May 23, 1997, the Founder of peace and national unity - Leader of the nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan His excellency Emomali Rahmon met with young representatives of the country and signed the Decree "On Some Issues of Improving Work with Youth". It was this historic day that contributed to the fact that May 23 was declared Youth day.
The historical significance of Youth day in Tajikistan is connected with support and encouragement of youth of the country, their active participation in public and political life. On this day, the achievements of youth in various fields are celebrated and various events such as concerts, exhibitions, sports competitions and other events dedicated to youth are organized. Programs are also implemented to support youth in various areas of life. For example, conferences and seminars are organized on health, education, employment and other important topics. All this is done to show young people that they are an important element of society and that their participation in the development of the country is very important.
President of Tajikistan his excellency Emomali Rahmon has many times emphasized the role of youth in shaping the future of our country. He calls for educating young people in the spirit of patriotism, respect for values and a passion for education. The country's leadership supports youth initiatives, so dozens of youth programs have been implemented in Tajikistan, including: "National Youth Program of Tajikistan", "State Program of Patriotic Education", "Youth Health Development Program", "National Program of Social Development of Youth in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2013-2015 and 2016-2018" and so etc.
Tajikistan is currently implementing the "Strategy of State Youth Policy until 2030". At the end of 2022, the Dushanbe Mayor's Office decided to support young scientists, writers, journalists, and IT specialists. A prize was established for young people under 30 years old in the form of monetary incentives for their inventions and labors.
