On May 16, 2025, a meeting was held at the State Educational Institution «Avicenna Tajik State Medical University» with representatives of the Swiss Medical Delegation (SMD) as part of international cooperation in the field of healthcare.

The purpose of the visit was to develop cooperation in the areas of surgery, anesthesiology, and family medicine, as well as to strengthen ties between Tajikistan and Switzerland in the field of medical education and practice. Additionally, the representatives of the SMD aimed to facilitate the exchange of experience and knowledge, as well as provide access to advanced methods and technologies that could be beneficial for the development of medical science and practice in Tajikistan.

Swiss specialists visit Tajikistan annually to conduct theoretical and practical training aimed at improving the qualifications of local doctors and students.

During the meeting, the parties discussed directions for further joint activities, including participation in field missions in the regions, organizing lectures and seminars for young specialists and students. Special attention was given to issues related to professional growth, experience exchange, and the development of intercultural communication among healthcare workers.

The leadership of the State Educational Institution «Avicenna Tajik State Medical University» expressed gratitude to the Swiss colleagues for their years of cooperation, high level of professionalism, and commitment to strengthening international ties in the field of medicine.
