THE ROLE OF CURATORIAL WORK IN THE EDUCATION OF STUDENT YOUTH

THE ROLE OF CURATORIAL WORK IN THE EDUCATION OF STUDENT YOUTH

During the period of student life, the university becomes a second home for young people, so it is natural to create the most favorable atmosphere for students to stay at the university, which lays the foundation for the professional ethics of future specialists. There are reasons why the process of adapting students to the specifics of the university becomes more complicated. In these conditions, the role of the curator is important, whose main goal is to create a team of student groups, and this requires great efforts and responsibility on the part of both the curator and the students. Therefore, education should be considered as a complex multi-level process, and the construction of educational work should be considered as a system of supervision aimed at the formation of the quality of life of students.

Curator (from the Latin Curator, from cura – "care") is the former name of a university trustee. The Great Encyclopedic Dictionary of 2000 gives a narrower concept: in some educational institutions it is a teacher, an educator who supervises the education of schoolchildren (students).

Education is a process of purposeful influence on the personality of economic, political, spiritual, socio-cultural, environmental, psychological factors, we define education at the university as a component of the socio-pedagogical process, and, thus, take it beyond the narrow interaction of the educator and the student, where the main role is played by the curator. The work of a curator requires great dedication, intellectual and emotional efforts, constant growth and improvement. A modern curator should not be an indifferent, passive observer. It should be noted that students feel a special need for a teacher-mentor at the beginning of their student journey. A first-year student finds himself in the sphere of completely new contacts, responsibilities and sensations. At this stage, it is important that the student feels support, interest not only in everyday life, but also in his fate.

The educational process in the university, aimed at the formation of the quality of life of students, is a certain socio-pedagogical system, which is based not on the principles of dominance or confrontation, but on the principles of cooperation. An important resource for the education of students is the effective activity of the curator of the academic group. Today, the university teacher in extracurricular activities is the curator of the student group, and the coordinator of the activities of student public associations, and the developer together with students of innovative projects, programs, and the mentor of students in their individual professional and personal self-determination, and the organizer of significant university events. practical activities at the university allows us to note that often the function of the curator of the student group of the university is reduced only to organizational work or is absent at all. Sometimes teachers have an attitude that a student is an adult, which leads to a lack of understanding of the activities of the curator in the variety of his roles. As a result, conditions are not created for the development of personal qualities, the determination of the motives and needs of students' activities, the emergence of friendly ties and relationships, the formation of a subjective position. All these shortcomings lead to the incomplete use of the educational capabilities of the study group and the university for the development and self-development of the student's personality. Therefore, it is necessary to identify and consider new approaches to improving the activities of curators aimed at creating conditions for the education of student youth. The new roles of the curator should be of the nature of organic interaction with students, democratic relations, community of interests and the results of joint activities. This approach expands the framework of the main professional function of the teacher; it is supplemented by the educational function and becomes one of the indicators of the formation of the personal and professional position of the university teacher

Curatorial work at the university helps students adapt to the educational environment, controls educational and extracurricular activities, assists in solving emerging problems, establishes effective communications between students and departments and teachers, helps in resolving conflict situations that arise during the entire period of study at the university. The curator serves as a link between the administration, teachers and the student group. The task of the curator at the university is to guide the student, motivating him not only to gain knowledge, to be interested in the profession, but also to be aware of his actions and take responsibility for them. The curator, being responsible for the fate of the student during his studies at the university, must maintain constant contact with his parents. current academic failure, etc.), correspondence - letters of thanks to parents, letters of call, etc.

In the Avicenna TSMU, curatorial activity is one of the forms of educational activities of the teaching staff as an irreplaceable and effective system of interaction between teachers and students. It allows you to solve many problems, including helping students in their studies and emerging problems, passing on life experience, knowledge and traditions to young people, having a certain impact on their worldview and behavior, instilling love for their specialty, profession, university. In Avicenna TSMU, there is a Regulation "On the Activities of Curators and Chief Curators", approved in 2025, which reflects the goal, objectives, rights, obligations, general principles of the activities of curators, the procedure for their appointment, terms of activity, etc. that excite the student. In this way, a trusting relationship "teacher - student" is established, which can make the learning process more effective.

Curatorship is one of the professional functions of a university teacher, associated with his personal and professional position. The manifestation of professional functions in the work of a curator requires a serious emphasis on the worldview and technological component of the activity, on which the development of the student's personality and its socially significant qualities directly depends. The curator is required to take into account the humanistic foundations of interaction with students and the attitude of the teacher to himself as a participant in the educational process, i.e. the subject of education and the bearer of professional knowledge.

Professional qualities that a curator should have as a teacher of higher education:

·        pedagogical erudition;

·        pedagogical goal-setting;

·        pedagogical (practical and diagnostic) thinking;

·        pedagogical intuition;

·        pedagogical observation;

·        pedagogical optimism;

·        pedagogical resourcefulness;

·        pedagogical foresight;

·        pedagogical reflection.

It is necessary to highlight such activities as consulting and mentoring in the work of curators. Counseling occupies an important place in the process of organizing and conducting socially oriented activities. Mentoring is aimed at supporting students directly during their socially significant activities.

Thanks to the implementation of the Regulation on Supervision in our university, the tasks of increasing the social adaptation of students at the university, the level of communication skills both among students and at the level of "student - teacher" can be solved, which will increase the motivation of students to the learning process, the development of the educational program and further professional activities.
