THE FIRST STAGE OF THE UNIVERSITY-WIDE STUDENT INTELLECTUAL COMPETITION WAS SUCCESSFULLY HELD

With the aim of developing and strengthening students’ theoretical and practical knowledge, enhancing their logical and analytical thinking, and fostering the ability to apply knowledge in conditions of intellectual competition, a scientific and intellectual contest in normal physiology was held at the university.

Students from all university faculties took part in the event, including the pharmaceutical, preventive medicine, pediatric, dental, and general medicine faculties. Each team consisted of 10 participants, and a healthy intellectual competition was organized among them. The event was conducted in a scientific and friendly atmosphere and contributed to the development of teamwork skills, increased interest in studying physiology, and the identification of talented students.

The competition consisted of two stages. In the first stage, all faculty teams participated and competed in five rounds: team presentations, solving a physiological scanword, explaining physiological mechanisms, developing physiological schemes, and solving situational problems. Up to 20 points were awarded by the jury for each correct answer. As a result, the three best teams advanced to the final stage.

The jury included experienced faculty members who conducted the evaluation in accordance with the principles of objectivity and transparency. The questions were developed based on the current academic curricula and covered participants’ knowledge level, analytical abilities, and practical application of knowledge.

The results of the competition showed that students possess a solid level of theoretical knowledge, as well as strong analytical skills, the ability to draw conclusions, and to work effectively in teams. The event contributed to strengthening cooperation between faculties and enhancing the scientific culture of students.

At the conclusion of the competition, the winners were determined. First place was awarded to the team from the Faculty of General Medicine, second place to the team from the Faculty of Pediatrics, and third place to the team from the Faculty of Dentistry. Fourth place went to the team from the Faculty of Preventive Medicine, while fifth place was taken by the team from the Faculty of Pharmacy.

It was also noted that in the second stage of the competition, the three leading teams will continue to compete for the honorary title of «Best Expert in Physiology».

Overall, the scientific and intellectual competition was conducted at a high organizational level, contributed to achieving its intended objectives, and created favorable conditions for the further development of students’ academic and scientific activities.
