Terrorism and extremism are undesirable phenomena of the century, which manifest themselves in various forms and types and threaten the countries of the world with their terror. The Republic of Tajikistan is constantly making good efforts to eliminate the dangers and threats of terrorism and extremism. And in this direction it is also recognized as an active and leading country. Extremist organizations and terrorist organizations are a threat to the national security of any country in the world. Extremist and terrorist organizations try to undermine political stability, security and peace of states by spreading radical ideas, inciting hatred and hostility, recruiting ignorant youth and committing terrible crimes. That is, today terrorism and extremism have become the main dangers of the modern world.

Terrorism and extremism are considered one of the greatest dangers of the modern world. Every year, terrorists and extremists kill hundreds of innocent people and make peaceful societies unstable. The reality of today's world and isolated incidents testify to the destructive threat of terrorism and extremism. For more than two decades, the international community has made significant progress in combating the threat of terrorism and extremism, but, despite this, terrorism and extremism remain a concern for states. The Republic of Tajikistan is recognized as one of the leading and active countries in combating the threat of terrorism and extremism. In order to combat this danger, the country has deployed a set of political, legal and educational measures. The countries of the world and international institutions also appreciated the role of Tajikistan in combating the dangers of the modern world, such as terrorism and extremism, extremism and drug trafficking. That's why in the capital – Dushanbe city constantly holds high level international events related to measures on prevention of terrorism and extremism dangers and ways of solution of such problems with participation of representatives of states and world famous organizations. and organizations as well as wide range of experts and politicians. In particular, in 2018, 2019 and 2022, Tajikistan hosted high-level international conferences on preventing the dangers and threats of terrorism and extremism with the participation of world-class experts and world-renowned organizations. With the increasing global political situation and its rapid changes and developments, increasing interstate and interreligious conflicts and the organized growth of cross-border threats, the vulnerability of societies is felt. The events of the end of the world show that terrorism and extremism have become the main dangers of the modern world. Such undesirable phenomena of the century as terrorism and Iftarism can increase the real danger in any form to the fate of any nation on the planet. Tajikistan, as a country that has experienced the consequences of these dangers, is still not far from its influence. The Republic of Tajikistan, under the leadership of the Founder of peace and national unity, the Leader of the nation President of the Republic of Tajikistan his excellency Emomali Rahmon, is taking a worthy place and an active role in combating terrorism and other related risks in the international community. Since the first years of independence, Tajikistan has defined its position and to this day presents its proposals from the platforms of world organizations and international conferences on this issue.

It is worth noting that Tajikistan also has a great contribution to the organization of the anti-terrorist center of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Tajikistan's role within the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Commonwealth of Independent States in combating terrorism is also very effective. In this process, the National Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for Counteracting Extremism and Terrorism for 2016-2020 was implemented and the Strategy for Counteracting Extremism and Terrorism in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025 was adopted.

Everyone knows that in today's world states are concerned about various dangers and threats such as terrorism and extremism, clash of civilizations, xenophobia and extremism, because the negative impact of these dangers and threats has a direct impact on security. Under such conditions, patriotism and respect for national and state values are the guarantors of development and strengthening of national statehood, stability, peace, peaceful and happy life.
