TERRORISM AND EXTREMISM – A THREAT TO SOCIETY
At the department of propaedeutics of children’s diseases, October 16 - 18, 2025, open lessons on theme “Terrorism and Extremism – A Threat to Society” were held under the guidance of associate professor, c.m.s., O.F. Khaydarova, and assistant K.R. Razoqova.
Today, there are no people in the world who remain indifferent to the phenomenon known as “terrorism and extremism.” The phrase “terrorism and extremism” is familiar to everyone — it can be heard on television and radio, in schools and universities, and found on the internet. But what exactly is terrorism, and why does it concern people so much?
Terrorism is an antisocial and violent act aimed at achieving certain goals. It is characterized by the use of extreme and cruel methods, such as attacks on innocent people or the creation of explosive devices. Extremism, on the other hand, is a particular type of behavior based on radical beliefs and ideas that go beyond social agreement and established norms. The similarity between terrorism and extremism lies in their shared aim to destabilize society and their potential use of violence to achieve their goals. However, unlike extremism, terrorism is characterized by the use of violence to create fear and panic within society, as well as to attract public and media attention.
Why can’t terrorism and extremism be trusted?
In a world where every person dreams of happiness, peace, and love, there are those who seek to destroy this harmony. Terrorism and extremism are a dark shadow that hides behind beautiful words and promises of justice and faith. But behind this shadow lie pain, fear, and death. One must not trust those who disguise evil with false ideas. Terrorists try to convince people that violence is the path to truth — but this is a lie. No faith, no idea can ever justify the killing of innocent people.
Those who choose the path of hatred lose their humanity. They forget that life is the greatest value — a gift given to each of us. By destroying others, they destroy themselves. Terrorism does not build — it only destroys. We must remember: true strength lies not in weapons, but in words, in the heart, and in good deeds. Only unity, mutual understanding, and respect can overcome darkness. Let our hearts be filled with light, for love is always stronger than hatred. Do not trust those who call for destruction! Believe in life, in kindness, and in peace — this is where a person’s true strength lies.
