Visit of representatives of the World Bank to the university and familiarization with the implementation of grant programs of the project "Higher Education in the Republic of Tajikistan"
In order to get acquainted with the implementation of grant programs of the project "Higher Education in the Republic of Tajikistan" and study the results of the CGP / HEP grant funded by the World Bank, on November 23, 2021, representatives of the World Bank visited the State Educational Institution "TSMU named after Abuali ibni Sino".
The World Bank mission includes Ms. Fadia M. Saada - Regional Director of the World Bank (WB) for Human Development in Europe and Central Asia, Mr. Cem Mete - Practical Director for Social Protection and Employment in Europe and Central Asia, Ms. Susanna Hayrapetyan - Head of programs and initiatives for human development in Europe and Central Asia, Ms. Saodat Bazarova - Education Specialist, Mr. Tigran Shmis - Senior Education Specialist of the World Bank, Ms. Mutriba Latipova - Chief Health Specialist, Ms. Anna Sukhova - Specialist on social protection.
The high-ranking guests were greeted by the rector of TSMU named after Abuali ibni Sino, doctor of medical sciences, professor Gulzoda M.K. and university representatives.
At the entrance, guests were greeted with a bouquet of flowers and bread and salt.
Rector of the University, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Gulzoda M.K. In his speech, he thanked the high-ranking guests for the visit and said that the Abuali Ibni Sino TSMU is always ready to cooperate with international organizations and foreign universities.
During the visit, the guests got acquainted with the course of opportunities for studying science at the Abuali Ibni Sino TSMU. Then the guests visited the Teachers' Training Center and the Pharmacy Research and Production Center.
It should be noted that within the framework of the Medical Education Reform Project, financed by the World Bank, the Pharmacy Center purchased 13 units of modern equipment for the production of medicines for a total of US $ 3 million, which will make it possible to produce medicines based on domestic plants. And also, in this center, students will learn the basics and nuances of drug processing using modern technologies.
The Pharmaceutical Center of the Medical University was established in 2016 on the instructions of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and a new stage of its development has already begun. The Pharmaceutical Center of the Medical University is an educational, research and production center that promotes the training of highly qualified personnel with a higher pharmaceutical education that meets the requirements of international standards. The center consists of a main building, a courtyard, a warehouse, five lines and rooms, a lecture hall, a phytobar, a laboratory of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry. The center has an electronic board, a multimedia projector, computers, printers and scanners, televisions, analytical scales, an autoclave, a coarse mill, a flour mill, a paper bag wrapper, a crate gluer and a vibrating screen.
For medicinal plants and antiseptic solutions produced by the Training, Research and Production Center "Pharmacy" produces medicinal and antiseptic solutions, such as chamomile flowers, rose hips, pumpkin seeds, corn stalks and stigmas, St. John's wort herb, wormwood herb, lemongrass, mint leaves, fennel ordinary (anise), plantain, Lavandol antiseptic solution, Glysep antiseptic solution, which have a certificate of conformity.
There are 5 production lines installed in the Pharmacy Training and Production Center. The first line processes more than 28 names of medicinal plants in Tajikistan, studying the biological and chemical properties of plants and provides them in the form of medicines. The second line is the production of synthetic drugs. The third direction produces medicinal products from medicinal plants. The fourth line - produces liquid capsules. The fifth line is the collection of domestic medicinal raw materials. The main purpose of creating the Center is to provide conditions for the organization and conduct of the educational process, training and industrial practice, production and research activities, as well as providing conditions for the acquisition of professional skills in the context of a specialized university, which is designed to contribute to the training of highly qualified personnel with higher pharmaceutical education that meets the requirements of international standards. Another of the tasks of the center is experimental activity, on the basis of which highly qualified pharmaceutical consulting services are provided to the population; carrying out preventive measures for self-medication with drugs; preparation of medicines (powders, ointments, lotions, solutions for internal and external use) according to a doctor's prescription and official documents; monitoring the process of educational and industrial practice of students; training and retraining of personnel; training of department assistants and employees of the Certification and Qualification Center; organization of collection of medicinal plants in accordance with current regulations, drying, analysis of their quality and processing.
Production from domestic herbs in various forms has been established (tablets, ointments, herbal supplements, suppositories, syrups, capsules, solutions, etc.), the processing of new medicines, the conclusion of contracts with public and private institutions of the domestic and foreign pharmaceutical industry for import, as well as export of medicines and medical equipment of the Pharmacy Training and Production Center.
It should be noted that the World Bank has purchased more than 18 dental tables, injection phantoms, impressions and other equipment for the Dentistry Clinical Center, which contributes to an increase in the level and quality of education and services.
During the visit, the guests watched an online demonstration of the implementation of projects at the State Educational Institution "TSMU named after Abuali ibni Sino", within the framework of the project "Development of Higher Education in the Republic of Tajikistan", as well as the report of the Center for Practical Skills Training.
It should be noted that within the framework of the Medical Education Reform Project, funded by the World Bank, a modern simulator with a wide range of capabilities "LE-ONARDO START" (equipment using high technologies) produced by Eidos Medicine (Kazan, Tatarstan, FR) was delivered to the Center for Practical Skills ... The simulator has a wide range of capabilities: measuring blood pressure, heart rate in the arms, legs and neck, listening to sounds in the heart and lungs, subcutaneous, intradermal and intraosseous injections, urine catheterization. Non-self-reliant cardiopulmonary resuscitation, artificial respiration, and computer emergencies such as anaphylaxis, cardiogenic shock, heart attack, exacerbation of bronchial asthma, and the like can be performed. The monitor screen displays ECG results, breathing depth, pulse oximetry and other vital signs depending on the type of disease. In addition, the introduction of any drug is carried out using a syringe with special chips. Changes are displayed on the screen during treatment, as well as in case of correct or incorrect treatment.
In conclusion, the World Bank Regional Director for Human Development in Europe and Central Asia Ms. Fadia Saada expressed satisfaction with the process of cooperation with the Abu Ali ibni Sino TSMU, noting that in the future the World Bank will cooperate with the Abuali ibni Sino TSMU within the framework of three projects: development of higher education, modernization of dental and pharmaceutical education.
