The American Institute of Public Opinion and Evaluation, GALLUP — considered one of the most reliable sources of information in the world — has compiled its latest ranking of the safest countries in the world in its "Global Safety Report" for 2025. In this year’s report, Tajikistan is ranked as the second safest country on the planet.
In the turbulent times of the 21st century — when the modern world is facing security threats, regional conflicts, and an information war — security has become a key element of development and peaceful life. In this context, the Republic of Tajikistan is regarded as one of the most prominent examples of a safe and peaceful country, both in the region and globally.
Tajikistan, which gained political independence after the collapse of the Soviet Union and undergoing a difficult period of civil war, has today — under the leadership of the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon — successfully established lasting political stability and internal security.
The structure of state governance has been strengthened year by year, and both the legal and law enforcement systems have become more effective. Law enforcement and the maintenance of public order in the country have been established at an acceptable level.
Tajikistan was one of the first countries in Central Asia to seriously address the issues of terrorism and extremism. Legislation in the area of national security and the fight against emerging threats has been updated in accordance with international standards.
Tajikistan’s active participation in regional security organizations such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), and its cooperation with global powers in the fight against organized crime highlights the country’s position as a reliable and stable partner.
Citizens of Tajikistan live in a peaceful environment. The tranquility of cities and villages, combined with the high level of Tajik hospitality, creates a welcoming and attractive atmosphere for foreign tourists.
In conclusion, Tajikistan has today established its position on the political map of the world as a safe and stable country. Since security is the foundation of statehood and the basis for a peaceful life for the population, Tajikistan’s experience can serve as an example for other countries in the region.
