SCHOOL FOR FUTURE MOTHERS

SCHOOL FOR FUTURE MOTHERS

On April 15, 2026 at the department of propaedeutics of children, s diseases of the SEI "Avicenna Tajik State Medical University», assistant Ashurova A.Q. held an open lesson on the topic: "School for future mothers". The lesson was attended by department staff and 3rd year students from the 80th group of the medical faculty. The students from the above- mentioned group also presented a report ,which was very significant. This work examines the topic of preparing a woman for motherhood, including the stages before pregnancy, during pregnancy, childbirth, as well as newborn care and the further development of the child. Special attention is given to a comprehensive approach that integrates medical, psychological, and social aspects of forming the maternal role. Preparation for motherhood begins even before pregnancy and includes preconception preparation aimed at improving the overall health of the woman, identifying and treating chronic diseases, normalizing lifestyle, and preventing possible complications of pregnancy and childbirth. This stage is of great importance, as it helps create optimal conditions for conception and fetal development. During pregnancy, key importance is given to monitoring the condition of both the mother and the fetus, maintaining proper nutrition, physical activity, and psychological comfort. Pregnancy is considered a physiological process divided into three trimesters, each with its own characteristics and risks. Taking these trimesters into account allows timely adjustment of the woman's lifestyle and helps prevent the development of complications. Special attention is paid to preparation for childbirth, which includes studying the stages of labor, mastering breathing techniques, developing appropriate behavior during labor, and reducing anxiety levels. This contributes to a more favorable course of childbirth and reduces the risk of complications for both the mother and the child. After the birth of the child, the most important stage is newborn care, which includes breastfeeding, hygiene, monitoring health status, and establishing emotional contact with the mother. Proper organization of care promotes the normal adaptation of the child to extrauterine life, strengthens immunity, and supports harmonious development. In addition, the features of physical, psychomotor, speech, and emotional development of the child are discussed. The importance of regular developmental screening is emphasized, as it allows for the timely detection of possible deviations and early intervention. Thus, the topic of preparation for motherhood has high medical and social significance. It is aimed at preserving maternal health, reducing perinatal morbidity and mortality, and ensuring the full physical, mental, and emotional development of the child.
