Conducting a press conference at the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University
Today, July 13th , 2022 in the hall of the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University was held a press conference on the activities of the ATSMU in the first half of 2022 year with the participation of 41 journalists of the mass media. At the press conference, the rector of the university, d.m.s., professor Gulzoda Mahmadshoh Qurbonali presented detailed information about the activities and achievements of the university in the first half of 2022. At the meeting it was stressed that the university administration constantly attaches paramount importance to improving the quality of education and training. Necessary measures are constantly being taken to modernize education at the university. Taking into account the needs of the population and the country's health care the educational programs have been improved and adapted to international standards, and positive results have been achieved in this area.
Avicenna Tajik State Medical University and the educational programs of the specialties of the university are fully (100%) international accredited, meet the standards of the World Federation for Medical Education and have a certificate of compliance.
Rector of the university d.m.s., professor Gulzoda Mahmadshoh Qurbonali during his speech highlighted the international cooperation of the university and noted that at present the university administration has signed agreements on cooperation with 61 educational and scientific institutions and foreign organizations. In the first half of the year 2022 signed 2 bilateral agreements to extend and 6 bilateral agreements with educational and scientific institutions of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan and Korea. According to the implementation of these agreements the university regularly conducts academic exchange programs, summer schools and joint scientific and practical research. Accordingly, under the program of academic exchange during the reporting period, 14 students of the university were sent to Izhevsk State Medical Academy to continue their studies during the spring semester. Also, 11 professors and teachers of the university traveled to Moldova, the Kingdom of Austria, Germany, Uzbekistan, the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan and Switzerland to participate in international events, such as conferences, congresses, and educational seminars. 17 students of Izhevsk State Medical Academy for training in spring semester, and 5 students of South Kazakhstan Medical Academy came to ATSMU came for industrial training under the guidance of Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of Department of Industrial Technology Bayan Akhmetovna Sagindikova. At the press conference, the rector of the university, doctor of medical sciences, professor Gulzoda Mahmadshoh Qurbonali gave precise and comprehensive answers to journalists' questions on various areas of the university with a clear analysis.
Avicenna Tajik State Medical University has trained more than 46,000 highly qualified doctors and pharmacists during its 82 years of activity, 65% of which were in the period of independence of the country. 1634 scientific cadres in the field of medicine, including 228 doctors of sciences and 1406 candidates of sciences were trained at the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University. These figures testify to the effective functioning of the university.
It is a matter of pride that the graduates of the University serve the people and our dear homeland not only in the Republic of Tajikistan do so conscientiously, but work in more than 50 countries and raise the prestige of the Tajik homeland and people.
