Peace is not obtained without difficulties, we have to deserve it!
One of the important events that took place in the first years of state independence in the republic was the holding of the XVI Session of the Supreme Council of the twelfth convocation (November 16, 1992). In those formidable years, the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan was considered the only competent state structure, trusted and relied upon by the people. Only this structure could help restore peace and tranquility in the country.
Unfortunately, during this period, the Armed Forces lost their influence, and armed criminal groups took advantage of this situation and began to rob, seize State property, terrorize and attempt to kill the population of the country. All this caused enormous damage and negatively affected the economy of the state and plunged the state of the republic into a state of chaos.
Of course, the event that determined the fate of the Tajik people took place at this very session. In other words, the people elected one of the noble and honorable men of the nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon as Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan, which laid the foundation for peace in the country that day. We remember the warm and sincere words of the newly elected leader: "I bring you peace". Later, the head of the country visited the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for the return of Tajik refugees from Afghanistan and repeated the same peace-loving and patriotic appeals. Since the invitation was sincere and heartfelt, the Tajik refugees responded to it. And gradually they returned to their homeland, to a peaceful life. Only armed opposition groups remained, whose thinking and ideology depended on their foreign masters.
Thus, the momentous date of the Tajik people came on June 27, 1997, after 7 rounds of negotiations (1994-1997) the General Agreement on Establishment of Peace and National Unity in Tajikistan was signed, which five years of civil war in the country came to an end.
It is worth noting that the General Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and National Unity in Tajikistan saved the country from the threat of destruction and the people from confusion.
The Founder of peace and national unity - Leader of the nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Honorable Emomali Rahmon managed to preserve the integrity of the state, unite the Tajik nation, and restore the lost branches of the state. with his activities and peaceful policy, he raised the name of the Republic of Tajikistan on the world stage.
Unfortunately, there are still individuals and groups who wish to undermine the unity and stability of our independent country and destabilize the situation by any means.
Of course, we must be wise and savvy in dealing with such malicious groups and individuals. We should appreciate peace in our dear country and not forget that the current peace in the country was not achieved easily.
