The Founder of peace and national unity - Leader of the nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan his Excellency Emomali Rahmon welcomed the Executive Director of the Eastern Economic Committee of Germany Michael Harms at the Nation’s Palace on September 6.
The meeting discussed the situation and prospects of trade and economic cooperation and investments between Tajikistan and Germany.
Honorable President Emomali Rahmon emphasized that bilateral relations between our countries are based on the principles of trust, mutual understanding and mutually beneficial relations.
The parties assessed cooperation in the spheres of hydropower, industry, agriculture, transportation and tourism as beneficial for both sides.
The spheres of light and textile industry, food industry, mining and processing of minerals and rare metals, machine building, chemistry, pharmaceuticals, establishment of joint production enterprises were also named as promising areas of cooperation.
It was recognized necessary to start effective cooperation in the direction of attracting as much German capital as possible, innovations and import of new technologies from Germany in priority areas of Tajikistan.
During the meeting the sides expressed interest in processing and export of ecologically clean agricultural products of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, the parties considered the development of interstate cooperation in the form of "Tajik-German Investment Partnership" as a goal and expressed confidence that the Tajik-German Entrepreneurs Forum held yesterday in Dushanbe will effectively contribute to this. process.
