On August 15, 2026, an important and fruitful meeting was held at the main building of the SEI “Avicenna Tajik State Medical University” between the university administration, headed by Rector Mukhiddin N.D., and representatives of the Asian Development Bank in the Republic of Tajikistan.

The Asian Development Bank delegation was represented by Dr. Arash Alaei, Lead Consultant and Public Health Expert (USA); Ms. Mariya Khatiwada Savchuk, Senior Public Health Consultant (Switzerland); and Dr. Saidmumin Kholov, One Health and Health Security Consultant (Tajikistan).

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the development of family medicine, the training of highly qualified specialists in this field, as well as improving the quality of primary health care services. The participants also exchanged views on ways to strengthen cooperation in the development of this area, facilitate the exchange of professional experience, and enhance the professional skills of healthcare personnel.

It should be noted that the meeting was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, characterized by mutual understanding.
