How useful is aloe?

Aloe is the same evergreen flower with which each of us is familiar since childhood and which is called "grandmother's medicine" due to its amazing, and most importantly useful properties. Almost in every house you can meet aloe, but few people know about the benefits of having this plant themselves on the windowsill.

There are many varieties of aloe, but many of them are considered decorative. Only two species have medicinal qualities: aloe vera and aloe tree. Since in most cases aloe vera is used, we will tell you about this miracle plant.

Aloe vera belongs to the cactus family of plants, so it retains moisture for a long time in its leaves, which are 99% water. The leaves also contain beta-carotene, minerals, protein molecules, amino acids, and natural antioxidants in the form of vitamins A, C, E, and B vitamins. It is important to note that the older the aloe vera is, the more beneficial substances its leaves contain. Aloe juice has been used since ancient Egypt and to this day. Modern medicine confirms its healing properties and uses it in the creation of various products.

For example, it is widely used in the treatment of respiratory and digestive organs, in streptococcal and staphylococcal infections, in the treatment of skin diseases and in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. Moreover, very often aloe is of great help in the treatment of purulent and infected wounds, as it is able to accelerate tissue regeneration, as well as in the treatment of burns, whether thermal or sunburns. Aloe also helps in the treatment of stomatitis in adults and children, and ophthalmologists use drops with the addition of aloe juice in the treatment of conjunctivitis, myopia and for the prevention of cataracts. Who would have thought that one plant that grows silently at home in a pot and does not interfere with anyone, can be a real life saver in so many different situations. But that's not all - aloe vera is insanely useful for facial skin and hair.

Aloe vera juice contains more than a hundred biologically active substances and skin beneficial components that deeply moisturize the skin, prevent its dehydration and retain the necessary amount of moisture in the layers of the epidermis. The amazing thing is that aloe vera penetrates into the skin four times faster than water.

Aloe is also good at soothing irritated skin and has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties on minor wounds, abrasions, inflammations such as pimples and acne, and redness caused by UV exposure. This is due to the presence of salicylic acid, glycoproteins and flavonoids that help to relieve inflammation and quickly repair the skin. Aloe gel can also be applied to irritated skin after shaving to soothe it.

Since aloe contains vitamins and minerals such as magnesium, zinc, potassium, calcium and chromium, they protect the skin from the negative effects of external factors, creating an invisible barrier on the skin.

And, of course, anti-ageing effects. Aloe juice helps to increase skin elasticity, restore its tone and elasticity, thanks to the production of collagen and hyaluranic acid, which help to preserve youth.
