Factors and prospects of tourism development in Tajikistan
Rich history and rich cultural heritage, unique beauty of nature of Tajikistan are the basis for the development of tourism, which is one of the important directions of development of the national economy of the country. In this regard, tourism as a proven means of attracting domestic and foreign investment, the sphere of creating new jobs, sources of income for the population and enriching the state budget has made a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the country. According to the objectives of the National Development Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period until 2030, the rich historical and cultural heritage of the country and its unique nature are an important condition for the development of tourism and GDP growth in the country.
In the light of the creative and constructive policy of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the tourism industry is progressively developing, the country has achieved significant success in this sphere and has acquired a special reputation in the international arena. Tajikistan's membership in the World Tourism Organization, the entry of our capital city Dushanbe into the World Federation of Tourist Cities, the announcement of Dushanbe as the tourism capital of the Economic Cooperation Organization for 2020-2021, the inclusion by UNESCO of tangible cultural heritage: the historical site "Sarazm", "National Garden", and intangible cultural heritage: "Chakan - the art of embroidery of the Republic of Tajikistan", "Navruz holiday", "Oshi Palov" and "Music Shashmakom" - are proof of this, and the tourist image of Tajikistan. With the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the necessary tourism infrastructure is being built in the regions, which will create a favorable environment to attract a large number of tourists, improve the welfare of rural areas and create new jobs.
To ensure that the industry is attractive to domestic and foreign investors, the Government of the country has established a number of incentives and created an economic and legal framework for the development of tourism zones. In order to enter new markets, entrepreneurs of the tourism industry take part in the largest trade and handicraft exhibitions of different countries of the world, such as Germany, Korea, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Russian Federation, and others. Within the framework of these events, Tajikistan's tourism brand will be widely promoted and cooperation with international organizations and organizations in the field of adapting the country's tourism products to international standards will be intensified. In Tajikistan, the contribution of law enforcement agencies in ensuring the safety of tourists is significant, and ensuring the safety of recreation and tourism for tourists is always in the center of attention. In order to create modern educational conditions for training specialists in the field of tourism, the Institute of Tourism, Entrepreneurship and Services was established in the country on the basis of the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Service. There are 20 educational institutions in Tajikistan that train specialists in tourism and services. Since January 2022 there is a visa-free regime with 52 countries of the world. The country has developed and continues to expand tourism routes - natural, historical, cultural, gastronomic and eco-tours.
