ENHANCING THE SCIENTIFIC POTENTIAL OF PHD STUDENTS, POSTGRADUATES, AND MASTER’S STUDENTS: LITERATURE SEARCH AND USING MENDELEY
A seminar titled "Recommendations for Literature Search and Using Mendeley" was organized by the Department of Research Personnel Training to develop young researchers' skills in effectively working with literature sources to prepare high-quality literature reviews.
During the seminar, trainers Jovidon Nurmakhmadovich Kabirov and Zulfiya Khaibulloevna Tilloeva provided detailed information on Impact factors and quartiles of scientific journals, principles of journal indexing in international databases such as Web of Science, Scopus, and RINC, the importance of using peer-reviewed journals and scientific search engines, including PubMed, Google Scholar, Sci-Hub, E-Library, and ResearchGate.
Special attention was given to Mendeley, a free and user-friendly tool for managing bibliographic information. Participants explored the program's features for organizing collections of literature sources necessary for writing dissertations and scientific publications.
The practical part of the seminar included downloading and installing Mendeley, creating and managing a database of literature sources, automatically generating citations and bibliographies according to international standards.
It is expected that holding a series of such seminars will contribute to the development of key skills necessary for successful scientific activity.
