“Tajikistan adheres to its position and calls for the creation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan. The imposition of any political system on Kabul without taking into account the opinion of the people can lead to unpredictable consequences, "the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, esteemed Emomali Rahmon, said at a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) today in Dushanbe, the NIAT Khovar correspondent reports.
The leader of the nation, Emomali Rahmon, also once again called on the international community, in particular the UN, the International Committee of the Red Cross to provide emergency assistance to Afghanistan and the population of Panjshir province, which has been in a complete blockade for about two months.
Tajik President Emomali Rahmon noted that international terrorism, extremism, separatism, cross-border organized crime, including drug trafficking and cybercrime, remain the main threats to security in the SCO space.
Recall that the Dushanbe meeting is attended by the heads of the SCO member states: Prime Minister of the Republic of India Narendra Modi (online), President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping (online), President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, Prime Minister - Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Imran Khan, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin (online), President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as well as the heads of the SCO observer states: President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ibrahim Raisi and President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh ( online).
The SCO jubilee meeting in Dushanbe is also attended by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov as a guest of honor, as well as SCO Secretary General Vladimir Norov and Director of the Executive Committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure Jumakhon Giyosov.
In addition to them, the UN Secretary General (online) and heads of regional organizations - the CIS, CSTO, CICA, ECO and EAEU - also take part in the meeting.
