DEVELOPMENT OF SCIENTIFIC COOPERATION AND HUMAN RESOURCE TRAINING IN PATHOLOGICAL ANATOMY

On March 25, 2026, a meeting was held between Professor B.S. Tabariyon, MD, Director of the Research Institute of Fundamental Medicine of the Tajik State Medical University named after Abuali ibn Sino, and B.I. Safarov, Candidate of Medical Sciences and Head of the Human Capacity Development Department, with Professor R.A. Nasyrov, MD, Head of the Department of Pathological Anatomy with the Course of Forensic Medicine named after Professor D.D. Lokhov at Saint Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University, as well as the Chief External Pediatric Specialist in Pathomorphology and Cytology of the Saint Petersburg Health Committee. The event was organized with the support of the Rector of the Tajik State Medical University named after Abuali ibn Sino, Professor N.D. Mukhiddin, MD.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that the department’s academic staff is actively engaged in both fundamental and applied research. Among the priority research areas are placental pathology and diseases of the perinatal period, including cases involving extremely low birth weight, within the framework of the research project entitled “Morphological and Immunohistochemical Aspects of Pathology in Children, Fetuses, and the Placenta.”

In addition, the department’s researchers are involved in the study of pediatric infectious pathology, particularly viral infections, as well as non-infectious diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, kidneys, thyroid gland, endometrium, and issues related to pediatric oncomorphology.

The department is equipped with a modern immunohistochemistry laboratory, which provides extensive opportunities for a wide range of diagnostic and scientific investigations.

During the visit, the participants discussed the training of scientific personnel and specialists in the field of pathological anatomy, as well as the future prospects for the development of research activities.
