Today, 05.12.2023, on the initiative of the leadership of the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University and State Financial Control and Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Tajikistan together with the Program Office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in the city of Dushanbe at conference room of the Y.B. Isaakievsky of University was held an educational seminar in order to increase anti-corruption ideology of the society, especially young people, with the participation of representatives of the State Financial Control and Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The seminar was opened by the Vice-Rector for Educational and Methodological Work of ATSMU d.m.s., professor Ibodzoda Saidmuqim Tillokhuja, and after the guests' speech, he spoke about the content of the seminar, the dangers of corruption to society and governance. During the speech, it was noted that corruption in the modern world is recognized as a risk of bankruptcy and weakening the foundation of any country's economy. According to the analysis of experts, the main reasons for the emergence of corrupt practices are the low level of legal knowledge of citizens and premature realization of one or another of their needs by state institutions.

At the seminar, a representative of State Financial Control and Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Tajikistan, Tursunzoda Saimahbub, spoke and discussed the issues of anti-corruption policy in the Republic of Tajikistan, the basis for the formation of resistance to corruption. The importance of organizing and conducting awareness-raising activities, the dangers of corruption and its legal consequences, understanding the responsibility of each citizen in preventing and combating corruption were explained in detail.

At the anti-corruption training seminar, Stefan Hanisch, representative of the Program Office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in Dushanbe, expressed his opinion on the international risks of corruption, the requirements of international anti-corruption documents, and the experience of international organizations in this field.

It should be toted that at the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University, the Administration of the University has developed an action plan to combat corruption, and it is being implemented. At the university, teachers with the involvement of law enforcement officials and industry experts organize conferences, educational hours, and explain the legal consequences of corruption. Conducting propaganda and awareness-raising activities to identify and prevent and legal consequences of corrupt practices among citizens, especially young people, the implementation of such measures contributes to the improvement of their legal knowledge, is considered one of the important measures to prevent corruption in Tajikistan. Corruption offenses, along with extremism and terrorism, are dangerous for society, and prevention and counteraction to them is considered the main mission of every citizen.
