Annually, May 9 is celebrated in our country the Victory Day as a tribute to the heroism of our fathers who gave their lives to protect the people and the Motherland in the Great Patriotic War. The sons and daughters of the Tajik people, together with other nationalities of the Soviet Union, expressed their courage and loyalty to the Motherland and gave their lives in defense of our people and Motherland, our bright future. That is why 296 thousand people from Tajikistan took part in this cruel war and 92 thousand gave their lives for the freedom of the Motherland from fascism. Courage and devotion of Tajik soldiers were put in the center of attention of the state leadership, they were honored with state orders and medals. At the same time, 54 representatives of Tajikistan were awarded the highest title of the Soviet Union - Hero of the Soviet Union, which is a reason for our pride. At the same time, during the many difficult years of the Great Patriotic War, the people on the home front, including the toilers of Tajikistan, made an extremely worthy contribution to ensuring victory through their efforts and achievements.

All these sacrifices and victims of the participants of the Great Patriotic War are still etched in the memory of the people and the people remember them with kindness and their heroism, which they did for the people and the Motherland. The Government of the Republic of Tajikistan under the leadership of the Founder of peace and national unity, the Leader of the nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His excellency Emomali Rahmon honors the memory of the participants of the Great Patriotic War and provided special support and attention to those who are on the verge of death. As the great Leader of the nation noted: "Improving the living conditions of war participants and veterans of labor, taking care of them is in the focus of attention of the government of the country, because our honorable participants and veterans are the keepers of glorious traditions of the past, an example of resilience, courage and inspiration and educators of the younger generation".
