ABANDONED CHILDREN ARE LIKE FRAGILE BLADES OF GRASS

On April 2, 2025, fifth-year students of the Medical Faculty, Group 80, of the State Educational Institution “Avicenna Tajik State Medical University” visited Children's house №1 in Dushanbe as part of a charitable initiative. The visit was conducted under the supervision of associate professor of the department of Family Medicine, c.m.s., Nosirova M.P. The orphanage is home to orphans and children deprived of parental care. Currently, it houses 67 children aged between 3 and 7 years old. This number varies depending on new admissions, adoptions, or the return of children to their families after improvements in their parents’ financial conditions.

In preparation for the event, students organized a fundraising initiative to purchase educational games for children of various age groups. For children aged 3–4, engaging coloring books and logic-based games were selected, while for those aged 5–6, educational materials and simple quest games were provided. Additionally, fruit and sweets were individually prepared for each child.

The purpose of this initiative was to foster civic responsibility among youth and to cultivate a sense of patriotism, kindness, and compassion. It was heartening to witness the students' high moral values, their willingness to support those in need, and their eagerness to connect with the children—offering a kind word or engaging them through games. Despite only recently having transitioned from adolescence themselves, the students demonstrated a sincere, almost parental affection toward the children of the orphanage.

Children eagerly participated in a timed poetry recital, with several raising their hands in hopes of being noticed. The event also featured a variety of joint sports and developmental games such as tug-of-war, hide-and-seek, and other interactive activities. Some children were simply excited to hold a mobile phone in their hands.

The overall tone of the program was set by Saidov Samir, a student from the group and an active volunteer in other charitable initiatives. Other notable contributors included the group leader Boboev Safarali, Khojaev Alijon (already a father of two), and Rahimov Umarali, who all played significant roles in selecting appropriate games and organizing food for the children.
