Within the framework of the international BERNICA project of the Erasmus+ program, Avicenna Tajik State Medical University organized English language courses for university lecturers and researchers.

The main objectives of the courses were:

• to develop the language competencies of lecturers and researchers;
• to enhance their ability to independently study foreign scientific sources;
• to improve skills in reading, writing, and publishing scientific articles in English;
• to prepare participants for active involvement in international scientific conferences, seminars, and training programs.

The English language courses were held at Avicenna Tajik State Medical University.
Classes took place from October 1 to December 25, 2023, and were conducted in person.

The training was conducted at the Upper-Intermediate level.The courses were taught by experienced English language instructors using modern interactive teaching methods aimed at developing all language skills — reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

Upon completion of the courses, participants took a final assessment, and those who successfully passed received certificates of completion.

The organization of these English language courses within the framework of the BERNICA project contributed to strengthening the educational and research capacity of the university’s faculty and researchers.
The knowledge and skills gained will enable participants to more actively engage with the international academic community, broaden access to foreign scientific publications, and improve the quality of their own research activities.
