One of the global problems of modern society is the inability to express their thoughts clearly and competently. Currently, the problem of developing the speech culture of students of national groups of the university is extremely important and relevant. The success of its interaction with communication partners and self-realization in society largely depend on the level of communicative competence of the person.

Thus, the main goal of a competent approach in teaching English as a non-native language is to form a comprehensively developed student personality, his theoretical thinking, linguistic intuition and abilities, mastering the culture of speech communication and behavior.

Communicative competence is not only the ability to understand strangers and generate their own statements, speech behavior, adequate for goals, spheres, situations of communication, but it includes knowledge of basic speech concepts: styles, types of speech: description, narration, reasoning; methods of linking proposals in the text, ability to analyze the text; observe parameters corresponding to speech culture.

In modern conditions, low speech culture is a factor that negatively affects the competitiveness of specialists. The higher the level of speech culture of a person, the more productive he will solve the tasks of professional activity.

It is important for the future specialist not only to be able to build his oral statement, to defend his own position in compliance with the rules of the culture of speech communication, but also to be able to understand someone else's speech and respond adequately to it. One of the most important tasks of a higher university today is the formation of the readiness of future specialists to self-study and show creative activity, having business communication skills, competently writing, able to use all means of language, i.e. ready for future professional activity.
