World Health Day is celebrated annually on April 7. The date was not chosen by chance. It was on this day in 1948 that the Constitution of the World Health Organization (WHO) came into force.

History

In 1944, the USA, Great Britain, the USSR and China agreed on the goals and objectives of the new organization, and in 1945, immediately after the Yalta Conference, Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin announced their readiness to establish an international organization "to maintain peace and security". In 1945, a large conference was held to discuss the UN Charter, where the question of creating another international organization that would address health issues was raised. The Charter of the World Health Organization (WHO) was prepared, which came into force on April 7, 1948. This day was celebrated as World Health Day.

Every year on April 7, World Health Day, a large educational program is launched on a certain theme, which deals with global problems in the field of health protection. In 2024, the painful topic of accessibility of health care, ensuring the rights of every person to medical care, favorable environmental conditions, education, clean air, normal nutrition is raised. According to the WHO, at least 140 countries have constitutionally enshrined the right of every citizen to health. But not all and not everyone can guarantee the observance of this right.
