MEDICAL STUDENT AND SPORT: ARE THE CONCEPTS COMPATIBLE?

The health of every person is very important. Physical activity plays a significant role in the activities of the members of society, so knowledge and skills in the field of physical education should be laid down in educational institutions of different levels step by step. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle depends on proper nutrition, sports activities, as well as refraining from alcohol, smoking and other bad habits. According to statistics, human health depends 10-20% on heredity, 10-20% on the environment, 8-12% on the level of health and 50-70% on lifestyle.

Sport should be an integral part of a medical student's life. It helps to maintain health, improve academic performance, develop the necessary qualities of personality. Therefore, you should not give up sports, even with the most strenuous studies.

At first glance, studying at a medical university and regular sports seem incompatible. A huge amount of information, lectures, seminars, practical classes, laboratory work - all this takes a lot of time and effort.

But is it really so? Should a future doctor give up sports?

Sports and study: benefits for health and academic performance

Physical activity is the key to a healthy and resilient body. And this is especially important for future doctors who have to work hard, including physically. Sports helps to cope with stress, which is inevitable in such a complex study. Regular exercise improves brain function, memory, concentration. And this, in turn, increases academic performance. Engaging in sports, the student learns discipline, determination, self-organization. These qualities are necessary for success in any profession, including medicine.

How to find time for sports?

With proper planning, you can find time for sports even with the busiest schedule. You can choose a sport that does not require a lot of time: for example, running, swimming, yoga. You can play sports with your friends or classmates. It will not only be useful, but also fun. It is not necessary to become a professional athlete. 30-40 minutes of moderate physical activity a day is enough.

Sport is an investment in the future

A healthy and fit person inspires confidence. And this is important for a physician who wants to be successful. Sports helps keep you healthy for years to come. And this is essential for a person who wants to help other people. By practicing sports, the student sets a good example for his future patients.

Sport is an integral part of a medical student's life. It helps to maintain health, improve academic performance, develop the necessary qualities of personality. Therefore, you should not give up sports, even with the most intense studies.

Remember: a healthy doctor is the best doctor!
