Meeting between university graduates and the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan

The Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan Abdullozoda Jamoliddin Abdullo had a meeting with the university graduates in "Sino" hall of "Avicenna Tajik State Medical University” this year June 2nd . The meeting was also attended by Yusufi Salomuddin Jabbor, Head of the Department of Medical and Pharmaceutical Education, Personnel Policy and Science of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan, Gulzoda Mahmadshoh Qurbonali, Rector of the ATSMU, graduates and deans of faculties.

The rector of the university, d.m.s., professor Gulzoda Mahmadshoh Qurbonali welcomed the guests and introduced them to the audience in the hall. During his speech, the rector of the university Gulzoda Mahmadsokh Qurbonali has noted that this year 1,518 graduates are graduating from the five faculties of the university. Of these numbers, 371 were studying on a budgetary basis, 254 on a quota basis and 893 on a contract basis.

Minister of Health and Social Protection of the population of the Republic of Tajikistan Abdullozoda Jamoliddin Abdullo have spoken, noting that the process of occupational placement is transparent and devoid of undesirable factors such as bribery, and therefore graduates should not rush to choose a profession. The Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan also told about the shortage of medical personnel in various regions of the country, and stressed that despite the fact that the university graduates a certain number of students each year, the issue of shortage of medical personnel remains open, as graduates do not enter the designated regions as required. This is due to the fact that statistical data on the scarcity of health care professionals in the regions is incomplete. At the same time, it was emphasized that our country currently needs family physicians, and by choosing the profession of family physician graduates can make a contribution to resolving this issue.

Yusufi Salomuddin Jabbor, head of the Department of Medical and Pharmaceutical Education, Personnel Policy and Science of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan, informed present participation about the number of vacancies for certain specialties in the regions of the country and emphasized that if there is no chosen specialty in their area, graduates can take an internship in Dushanbe.

During the meeting, Head of Department of Medical and Pharmaceutical Education, Personnel Policy and Science of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Population of Republic of Tajikistan and Rector of the ATSMU answered various questions of graduates on further work in health and social protection of population of the Republic of Tajikistan and the process of continuous medical education. At the end of the meeting the guests wished the graduates success in their final exams and wished them good luck in their future endeavors.

It should be noted that over the past 24 years the country has effectively implemented primary health care to the population on the principles of family medicine. Currently, qualified family medicine specialists across the country provide medical and sanitary services to the population, which are mainly aimed at prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of health of the population.
